It's About Thyme

It's About Thyme

An herb we most commonly associate with being used in the kitchen due to its aromatic and earthy flavors, thyme has a lot more to offer than use as a seasoning. In fact, thyme has been used for centuries with use being recorded as far back as Ancient Egypt.

When taken internally you will receive the benefits of vitamins A and C (hello immunity boost!) as well as the benefits of lowering your blood pressure.

When used externally,  thyme tincture (an alcohol or vinegar based extract) has shown promise in recent studies as a treatment for acne due to its antiseptic and disinfecting properties. These same properties are the reason it makes a great addition to natural mouthwash.

Thyme also boost natural anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that make it a great ingredient in natural cleaners. I personally love to add thyme essential oils to a natural kitchen cleaner, it smells great and gives me a level of clean receive from typical chemical based store bought cleaners.

Speaking of thyme essential oil, they are great to add to your aromatherapy regimen as the plant is loaded with carvacrol and this will give you a positive mood-boost.

With all of this in mind, I would say it is about thyme to work this beneficial herb into your life in more was than as a delicious seasoning.
